How to make a commercial invoice in three steps.

What is a commercial invoice?

A commercial invoice is the main document customs uses to identify the goods in an international shipment and assess duties and taxes. It describes the goods, their value and origin, and the buyer and seller.

What should a commercial invoice include?

Typically the exporter and consignee, the invoice number and date, a description of each item, quantities, unit and total values, currency, HS codes, country of origin, Incoterms, weights and a signed declaration. Requirements vary by country and carrier, so check with your freight forwarder or customs broker.

Can I add HS codes and country of origin?

What is the difference between a commercial invoice and a proforma invoice?
