Remit Invoice publishes guides, templates and calculators to help small businesses bill clearly and get paid. This page explains how that content is made, so you can judge how far to rely on it.
Who writes our content
Guides, templates and calculator explanations are written by the Remit Invoice editorial team. When a named writer or an outside expert, such as a qualified accountant, has written or reviewed a page, their name and credentials appear at the top of it.
We may use software, including AI writing tools, to help draft and check pages. A person edits every page and checks it against our sources before it's published.
Where our facts come from
Tax and legal points are checked against official sources, such as the IRS, HMRC and GOV.UK, the Australian Taxation Office and the Canada Revenue Agency. Pages about a specific country link to the guidance they're based on.
Rules differ between countries, states and industries, and they change. Our guides explain how things usually work; they aren't tax, legal or financial advice. Where it matters, we say so and suggest checking with an accountant or the relevant authority.
Examples and samples
Sample invoices, businesses, clients and figures are made up to show how a document works. They don't describe real companies or real people.
How we compare other products
When we compare Remit with another product, the facts about that product come from its own public website, and we show the date we checked them. Prices and features change, so check the other product's site before you decide.
We make Remit, so we have an interest in these comparisons. We say where another product may suit someone better, and we don't accept payment from other companies for how they're described.
Keeping pages up to date
Every guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when rules or our product change, and update the date only when the content has changed.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, email hello@remittinvoice.com with the page address and what's wrong. We correct factual errors as quickly as we can and update the page's date when we do.
