What Remit Invoice is.
Remit Invoice, also written Remit, is a web app for making business documents and getting paid for the work they describe. It runs in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install.
The free generators make invoices, estimates, quotes, receipts and letters with no sign-up and no watermark. Paid plans add what happens after you hit send: delivery by email or link with read receipts, online card and bank payments, automatic reminders, recurring invoices and reports.
It is built for small businesses, freelancers and the trades: designers, builders, consultants, photographers, cleaners and anyone whose craft deserves a better final page. Ready-made invoice samples cover 44 industries.
Most invoicing software looks like a spreadsheet that learned to send email. Remit starts from a different idea: the document that asks for payment should have the care of good stationery, and the software behind it should be quiet, fast and fair.

Private by default.
The free generators never need to see your documents. Everything you type is saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It is not uploaded to our servers, and there is no account to sign in to. Clearing your browser data removes your drafts, so download a PDF of anything you need to keep.
PDFs are made by your browser's own print function. Logos are resized and signature backgrounds removed in your browser too, so the photo of your signature never leaves your device. The site loads no advertising, tracking or third-party scripts.
When you choose to send documents or take payments, your Pro or Business account stores the business, client and document details you choose to keep with us, protected with encryption in transit and at rest. The security page and the privacy policy have the details.
How Remit makes money.
Remit earns its money from Pro and Business subscriptions. The free tools are not paid for with advertising or with your data: the site shows no ads, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use the contents of your invoices for advertising. If the free generator makes your business look good, you may one day want the tools that send, remind and collect. That is good for us too.
