Photography Invoice Template
A photography invoice covers more than time behind the camera. It should spell out the shoot, the editing, the number of final images and exactly how the client may use them. Getting those details on paper protects your licensing and makes the next booking easier.

What to include on a photography invoice
Shoot details
Date, location and session length tell the client exactly what they booked, and help you track work across a busy season.
Shot list & deliverables
State the number of edited images and the format they'll arrive in. It sets expectations before anyone asks for more.
Usage rights
Describe where the images can appear, for how long and in which regions. Licensing can carry as much value as the shoot itself, so give it a visible line.
Expenses and add-ons
List props, travel, studio rental or rush editing as separate lines so the core creative fee stays clear.

Billing tips for photographers.
Take a booking retainer
A nonrefundable retainer secures the date and protects you against last-minute cancellations, which are hard to fill.
Grant the license on payment
Tie usage rights to payment in full in your terms. It's a fair, quiet way to encourage invoices to be settled on time.
Price extra images in advance
Set a per-image rate for additional selects. Clients who fall for the gallery can add more without a renegotiation.
