Net terms count calendar days
Net 30 means payment is due 30 days after the invoice date, counting weekends and holidays. An invoice dated October 1 on Net 30 terms is due October 31. The same rule applies to Net 7, Net 15, Net 60 and every other Net term.
Due on receipt means now
Due on receipt sets the due date to the invoice date itself. It suits small jobs and one-off sales, where there's no reason to wait.
End-of-month terms start from the month's last day
End of month (EOM) makes the invoice due on the last day of the month it was issued. Net 30 EOM adds 30 days to that date, so an invoice dated October 12 is due November 30. Some industries read EOM terms differently, so spell out the exact due date on the invoice.
Weekends, if you choose
Turn on Skip weekends to move a Saturday or Sunday due date to the following Monday. Many businesses do this informally; if you do, say so in your payment terms so there's no argument later.
