Interior Design Invoice Template
Interior design projects bundle creative fees with furniture, fabric and trade purchases, often marked up or billed at a trade discount. Design hours and procurement are kept apart so clients can follow both. The format suits a full-home project or a single-room refresh.

Refined spaces deserve a refined invoice.
What to include on an interior design invoice
Design fees
Show design hours or a flat fee by phase, such as concept, development and installation, so the creative work is valued on its own.
Procurement specifications
List each piece with dimensions, finish, fabric and quantity. The invoice becomes the project's record.
Markup or trade pricing
State whether items are billed at retail, at a markup on trade cost or with a procurement fee. Being open here prevents uncomfortable questions.
Freight, receiving and installation
Shipping, warehouse receiving and white-glove delivery add up quickly. Itemize them so the total is easy to follow.

Terms. Procurement items are ordered once payment is received and can't be returned after that point. Design fees are due within 14 days, and late balances may carry a monthly charge of 1.5%.
Billing tips for interior designers.
Collect in full before ordering
Custom furniture is rarely returnable. Require payment for procurement items before you place the order.
Use a retainer for design time
A design retainer applied against hourly fees keeps you paid while procurement stretches over months.
Bill freight once it's confirmed
Shipping quotes change. Invoice freight when the final amount is known rather than estimating it upfront.
